STOP THE WAR NOW

STOP THE WAR NOW

Target:
MEMBERS OF CONGRESS

How much is this war costing you?

We need to be concerned about those that we elect to Congress. Why is it that we see rich people in politics? Should we not get people in there that speak for the common people which are the majority in this country? Our judicial system says we can have a jury of our peers when being tried for a crime but our legislative branch is not a true representation of the majority in this country which is the poor and the middle class.

The Constitution of the United States needs to be revived and revised again to include taking away the deployment of troops without a formal declaration of war away from the president. Let the people after getting all the facts and cost associated with war make the decision. Let the people vote on whether we want to go to war. Also, the individual parties cause separation in the U.S. Let us create solidarity amongst U.S. citizens by doing away with the political parties. Give the power of unity back to the people. Abolish the parties and give the people the voting power to declare war. We are the government.

Say NO to WAR and help revive our failing economy.  Changing the face of politics means actually changing the political system.  That means we must get rid of the crooks and put in some honest people.  I would run for office for a third of what they make in a year.  Why aren't they? Doctors, nurses, teachers, policemen, etc. all do their professions because they want to help people and they make far less.  Why does our members of Congress make all that money? They should all have to write a memo to the public on what they accomplished at the end of the year.  Accomplishments are paid in kind.

Did you know that Congress will be voting tomorrow on refunding the war in Iraq?  Call your representatives ASAP and let them know that we, the tax payers, do not want this war.

Today and tomorrow, call the Capitol Hill switchboard at 1-800-473-6711.  Ask for the office of your member of the House of Representatives. (If you are not sure who your representative is, use our Congressional Directory.)

Bring our men and women back home where they belong.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in a final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending its money alone, it is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Dwight Eisenhower, Speech (1953)

End Bush's Mistake now, stop the hand-ringing and the continual rationalizing. This lunacy has already cost way way too much in human suffering and in US economic health.

We have been beating a dead horse here for 5 years now, and over 4,000 Americans died now for what - LIES, and Bush's big oil pals. Already the USA is a pariah in the eyes of most of the civilised world now. If McCain wins, we will continue to be the bane of the world.

One cannot adequately take care of another without first taking care of oneself. With so much neediness going on right here, today, on our own homefront... PLEASE place emphasis of care on the people of our own country. The TREMENDOUS amount of funds being spent on this war -- instead of providing homes for our homeless, medical care for our own people ill-suffering, ensuring we each receive proper amounts of food, etc., etc., etc. -- is so unexplicable. The TRUE United States; in other words the popular majority of the people, is weeping at knowledge of what our government is doing -- and deceivingly IN OUR NAME!

Im completeley for this petition there has enough destruction, lies, death, withheld information. So many people have been led to believe in fighting Iraq when in fact they die on the fields of war brought on by asumptions that Iraq is our problem. It was never our problem in the first place. Just an idea the "scum" thought up to gain finance.

My young step-son went to war for our country, and he saw and was forced to deal with unspeakable acts of human cruelty and horrors. He came back very emotionally disturbed. He fears seeking counseling for this for fear he will be released on a "Dishonorable Discharge". How despicable is this? All for nothing...those people will never change their belief system no matter how long we stay there. Get our troops out of there now, please!

Impeach Bush and Cheney, stop the growth of corruption, greed and power-grabbing. Stop this illegal and immoral war and use it to convict these thieves and their enablers. That would include at least half of Congress. Stop the murder of our resources of brave and bright young people, who are sent to conduct an illegal occupation of a sovereign nation, which was not a direct threat to our country.
