Stop slave labor for the 2022 World Cups in Qatar !

FIFA, the association that appoints where World Cups are held, selected Qatar to sponsor the 2022 World Cups. FIFA should be more aware of the human rights issues in the countries that they select to have the priveledge of holding the World Cup. As we speak, there are immigrants who are working on the Qatar World Cup stadium for less than 78 cents per hour. Then come home to tiny rooms (some without a working air conditioner). The worst part is that even if they wanted to leave the country. They can't without their employer releasing them on an exit visa. Their passports are taken by their employer. Can you imagine being trapped in such horrible conditions.

Let's do some math. Rate of pay is $0.78 per hour. Which equal to 4.65 qatari rial per hour. The typical american works a 8 hour day. So their daily income is 4.65 qatari/hr x 8 hours = 37.2 qatari. A combination meal at McDonald is roughly 20 qatari rials. So if they were to order roughly an equivalent of one Cheeseburger Meal. They would end up with 17.2 qataris left. And a one way ticket on local transport is 10 qatari rials. So after a hards day of work and order only one inexpensive combo meal at McDonalds and heading to work. Their not even left with enough money for transportion or food.

This petition is in hopes that FIFA will change the location of the 2022 World Cup and also for FIFA congress to be more aware of choosing more appropriate countries that are not considered slave states and are not in violation of human rights. And for the people of Qatar to realize that all humans should be treated with dignity and respect. Please pass this petition on to other friends. We can change the future, it just takes one person!
