Help Lucky The Elephant At San Antonio Zoo

Queenie the elephant shared an exhibit with Lucky at the San Antonio Zoo.  Queenie died on March 10, leaving Lucky alone.  At 53-years-old Lucky should be sent to a sanctuary where she can be with other elephants.  She has been living at the zoo for 4 decades in its small and outdated elephant exhibit.  Please ask Mr. McCusker to be compassionate and humanely retire Lucky and permanently close the San Antonio Zoo elephant exhibit.

Dear Mr. McCusker,
We, the undersigned, ask that you retire Lucky the elephant from the San Antonio Zoo and send her to live with other elephants in a sanctuary.   At age 53, it is the humane thing to do for this elephant.

Advocates report the elephant exhibit at the zoo is small and outdated.  After witnessing the stress it caused when Queenie the elephant was introduced into the cramped quarters, advocates feel it would be cruel to bring a new elephant in.  At the same time, it would be cruel to keep Lucky in isolation for the rest of her life.

Please give your utmost consideration for the well-being of Lucky and sent her to a sanctuary.

Thank you for your time.
