Praise Hollywood Mogul for Closing Down Chinchilla Farm

"Sam Simon, co-creator of the well-known American cartoon show The Simpsons, has purchased a chinchilla farm in California as part of a three-year initiative by California animal rights activists to close the breeding facility down for good. Finally, the owner of the farm agreed to sell it to Sam Simon for $50,000. Not only did Simon buy the farm, he also donated $100,000 to the San Diego Humane Society so that it could care for the hundreds of rescued chinchillas, which will be sold to the public for $25 dollars each at a later date.

According to Reuters, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was working with Simon to close the deal. PETA was thrilled that it was able to help close one of the biggest chinchilla farms in California. PETA has reportedly been trying to get the owners to sell the farm for the last three years.

Simon has been very involved and active in his philanthropy work and is especially keen on animal rights causes. The chinchillas he rescued are being brought to the San Diego Humane Society to be cleaned and examined for any health problems. Presently, over 400 chinchillas are waiting to be examined in hopes of being adopted.

Please sign this petition to thank Sam Simon and PETA for closing down of the biggest animal farms in California, saving hundreds of innocent animals from being skinned for their fur or bred into suffering on an overcrowded farm."
