Bring Awareness and Prevent Bullying in our Schools and Communities

I am a Mom, a Grandmama, a Friend, and a  Domestic Abuse and Mental Health Advocate

Video Camera's in Hallways and Outside of Every School (Not in Private areas such as Restrooms or Gym Locker Rooms Although Teachers and Coaches Need to Be Observant during these Moments where Cameras Can't Be Allowed) and To Have Each Principle, Teachers, Student Counselors, District Officials, and Students Sign A Legal Document of the Acceptance of the Rules and Roles of Preventing All forms of Bullying and Consequences of these Rules and Roles if these Rules and Roles are Not Taken Serious with or without Proper Actions when Hearing and/or Seeing Any and All forms of Bullying in and around each School. I understand Confiendentaility and this way of using video cameras in order to view the many kids that pass within the halls of any school that may be the bullier, be the bullied, and bing a bystander. My idea isn't to disrespect or harm anyone. The videos would be used to Prevent Bullying and help Stop the Many Suicides and Suicidal Tendencies and are not in any fasion to be used elsewhere unless a crime has been committed and proper authorities are involved as well as any parent and/or guardian of a child being bullied.

This is important because we are losing one to many kids and because the long term affect of bullying has many dangerous outcomes for kids and adults. I believe that Bullying Needs to be Stopped with Proper Actions Taken when Bullying is Heard and/or Seen at Any School within the Schools and Outside of the Schools. Enough is Enough and We All Have to Work Together to Stop All forms of Bullying at our Schools. It Can Starts at Home and into Our Schools. With All the Social Media Options I Believe that We Have the Right To Freedom of Speech without Bullying Another Person for Any Reason. There is No Reason or Excuse for Bullying Another Person and We Have to Work Together in Order to Prevent Bullying as We've Come to Known it To Be.

I believe that We All are Responsible for Doing All that We Can to Help Stop Bullying of All Forms and As I Think About this Petition I Think this Will Help in Many Ways to Stop Bullying and Suicides. I don't want to compare this with Department Stores, Convient Centers, (Some) School Buses, Our Homes, Our Neighborhoods Our Community Events, and People with their Cell Phone Cameras and we are becoming more and more a society where video is used for many different reasons including the prevention of many crimes as well as helping to take the proper actions towards the person/people that are involved. I know this may be Hard to Realize, but, We Have to Do All that We Can to Protect Our Children and I Believe that this May Help in More Ways then One. I'm sure Some May Be Wondering About the Cost of this but, Please if you disagree then tell me that a Child is Not Worth any Cost because to Me Cost should Not Be an Issue when it Comes to a Childs Life. Bullying is a Crime and many forms of Bullying have been Prosecuted. Bullying happens in our schools, our communities, and in our work places.      Please Help Stop Bullying of ALL Forms.

Confidentialality is important and to me so is Saving a Life and We Should Do All that We Can to Prevent Bullying and Suicide. EXAMPLE OF DOCUMENTATION OF RULES AND ROLES FOR ANTI-BULLYING

I (The Signer) will treat all individuals equally and without discrimination regardless of race; gender; age; religion, sexuality; health or economic circumstances; disability; personal association with a person who is identified by reference to any of the attributes:

A) To be treated with respect and politeness by other students, parents, volunteers and staff

B) To be treated with understanding

C) To obtain maximum benefit from all lessons, classes and school related activities and programs

School promotes a supportive, cooperative atmosphere in which students can learn to the best of their ability and teachers can carry out their work to the best of their ability. I (The Signer) acknowledge that harassment and bullying are behaviours that are unacceptable and have a negative and detrimental impact on a school, community environment and therefore needs to be actively discouraged and eliminated from (Name of School).

Students, employees and all school community members need to be encouraged to report cases of bullying or harassment and need to be aware that it is possible for them to do something about it. They will be:

 A) Taken seriously

 B) Allowed to maintain anonymity if they wish

 C) Allowed to have a say in how their complaint is handled

Reporting can be verbal or written and made to a member of staff with whom the student and/or staff memeber feels comfortable. The staff member is then responsible for ensuring appropriate procedures are followed. If the action taken is not satisfactory to the complainant, the matter is to be referred to the principal with further actions taken within the accordance School's Code of Conduct.

Proactive approaches in the school to help combat bullying and harassment include the Peer Mediation, School Counseling, Accountability with Parent(s) and/or Legal Guardian(s) Involvment. The school will also ensure students know how and when to report incidents of bullying to a Teacher, Principal, School Counselor, and Any Other Staff Menmber.

Bullying is when someone, or a group of people, who have more power at the time, deliberately upset or hurt another person, their property, reputation or social acceptance on more than one occasion.

There are three broad categories of bullying:

1) Direct physical bullying- hitting, tripping, and pushing or damaging property

2) Direct verbal bullying- name calling, insults, homophobic or racist remarks, verbal abuse

3) Indirect bullying - harder to recognise and often carried out behind the bullied student’s back and is harmful to someone’s social reputation and/or cause humiliation. Indirect bullying includes: spreading rumours, pretending, lying, playing jokes to embarrass and humiliate, mimicking, encouraging others to exclude someone, damaging someone’s reputation and acceptance, cyber-bullying that can involve the use of email, text messages or chat rooms to humiliate another person

If a staff member witnesses an incident that may involve bullying inside their classrooms or elsewhere on school grounds, they will:

A) Approach the students and try to establish the nature of the incident

B) Remind students of the school’s anti-bullying policy, rules, and roles - make it clear to the offender(s) that bullying is unacceptable, and to the victim(s) that they have the right to make a formal complaint without feeling threatend

C) To take proper action(s) to break up any physical fights, negative verbal talk, and any indirect bullying of any form

D) Decide whether the incident is likely to recur in which case it should be reported to the Principal right away

A formal complaint can be made to the Principal who will arrange for a meeting with the person/s against whom the complaint is made to:

A) Determine whether mediation can be used to resolve the conflict

B) Mediation is not jointly agreed upon as an option, the principal will discuss other strategies to stop the bullying behaviour such as disciplinary action or a review of performance

C) The principal will arrange a follow up time with victim and perpetrator to determine whether the behaviour has ceased

D) Incorporate the parent(s) and/or guardian(s) within any actions taken with a student regarding behavior(s) and disiplinary action(s)
