On Feb. 10, 2014, 39 German Shepherds and a litter of puppies were found in deplorable conditions at a home in Cairo, NY.
The animals were discovered malnourished, underweight, dehydrated, and in cages containing inches of their own excrement.
Their owner, Dawn Verdeschi, was subsequently charged with one count of animal cruelty. The dogs were taken in by a local animal shelter, which then spend tens of thousands of dollars to return them to good health and find many of them homes.
We, the undersigned, strongly request Dawn Verdeschi be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
We urge you to set an example and show the state and the country that animal abuse will not be tolerated.
