بالإضافة الى المشاكل البيئية العديدة التي يعاني منها لبنان، غالباً ما نصادف فيديوهات وصور توثق جرائم بحق الحيوانات بكافة انواعها واجناسها.

وقد انتشر على صفحات التواصل الإجتماعي فيسبوك فيديو لصيد الطيور من نوع التيّان غير المسموح صيدها حتى في "موسم الصيد" (خوري وشماس، وهازجة، ودخلة)وطيور أخرى بطرق ممنوعة قانونيا وبالغة الأذى والوحشية (راجعوا الفيديو) وفقا لقانون الصيد في لبنان رقم 580 المواد التاسعة (منع استعمال الدبق) والعاشرة (منع إيذاء فراخ الطيور بحرمانها من أبويها ومنع استعمال ماكينات الصوت) والثانية عشرة (منع تصنيع أو استيراد الدبق أو استعماله أو الصيد به) والمخالفة موثقة بهذا الفيديو باستعمال الدبق وماكينات الصوت وصيد أنواع عير مسموح صيدها وحتمية نفوق الصغار في أعشاشها من دون رعاية والديها.

ونشير أيضا إلى أن التقارير الدولية الرسمية قد وثقت أن 2،6 مليون الطيور بما في ذلك الطيور المهاجرة تقتل سنويا في لبنان، لذا، فنحن كناشطين بيئيين ونود أن نطلب من مواطنينا وجميع الأطراف المعنية في كافة أنحاء العالم، التوقيع على هذه العريضة ومطالبة الدولة اللبنانية ممثلة بوزارات الداخلية والمالية والبيئة والزراعة بالتشدد بتطبيق المواد الرادعة 14 و 15 و 16 من قانون الصيد 580، وانزال العقوبات بالحبس وبالغرامات معاً التي تنص عليها هذه المواد، للحد من ظاهرة انتشار هذه الطرق اللاإنسانية في قتل الطيور غير المسموح صيدها، فضلا عن وضع ضرائب على شراء معدات الصيد وملاحقة المتاجرين بهذه المواد الممنوعة وتغريمهم، بالإضافة الى التسلسل بالعقوبات وصولا إلى تقديم هؤلاء المتاجرين بالمواد الممنوعة للنيابة البيئية وتطبيق عقوبات السجن بحقهم في الحالات التي تستوجب ذلك.

In addition to the many environmental problems Lebanon suffers from, we often encounter documented videos and photos of crimes against animals of all kinds.
A video of bird hunting (birds that are not allowed to be caught even during the "hunting season": blackcap males and females, warbler…) and other birds has recently spread on the social networking pages in Lebanon in this case Facebook.
Those extremely harmful and criminal (review the video) actions had been banned in accordance with the Lebanese Fisheries Law No. 580, 9th article (Prevention of the use of gluten) and the 10th (Prevention of the use of sound machines) and the 12th (Prevention of the manufacture or import of glutinous materials for use for huntingpurposes), and the violations documented with this video, using gluten and sound machines, and illegal hunting, where also the death of the brids’ babies is inevitable.
 And stating that the official international reports have documented that 2,6 million birds including migratory birds are killed yearly in Lebanon,Therefore, as environmental activists, and we wish to ask our fellow citizens and all concerned parties around the world, to sign this petition and demand that the Lebanese State, represented by the ministries of interior, finance, environment and agriculture, strictly enforce the provisions of Articles 14, 15 and 16 of the Fisheries Law 580, and impose penalties of both imprisonment and fine, to restrict the alarming widespread of inhuman methods of killing those birds, as well as taxing the purchase of fishing gear, prosecuting and fining the traffickers of these prohibited materials, in addition to serialization of penalties, in order to provide these traffickers with prohibited materials to the environmental prosecution and the application of imprisonment penalties whenever necessary.
