IS MIAMI LACKING UNITY? NEW FLAG DESIGN PETITION

  • by: Jason Carucci

Miami is more than just a tourist destination. It is made up of a widely diverse community of people from every part of the World - and everyone should be represented. Our flag should represent everyone regardless of what you look like, what you believe in, where you were born, where you were raised or how much money you make. The United States has always stood for equality and opportunity and in Miami - people from all over the world work side by side as a team together regardless of color, race, and religion.
The City of Miami flag as it stands has no character and fails to unify the people who live here. The City of Miami Flag is unrecognizable and is often
mistaken for the country of India. The flag was chosen decades ago during a time that most do not remember to this day. This petition is more than just changing a city flag - it is an attempt to unify the community. The new design titled "Miami Millenial" features several colors cut into equal triangles which stand for equality, vision, and unity. Thank you
