A man that did not own the property at old stop placed police tape where the bus used to turn around at the intersection of Hwy 196 and Dees Road. That impeded the bus from being to back up. Then Mr. Jeff Hendrix (205) 717-3387 said it is unsafe to back the bus up. I called and spoke of a solution. I talked to Mr. Hendrix and said if we can get Marion County Road Commision. to come and work the land that the property owner Mr. Williams is willing to give up about 1/2 acre if he would reinstate the orginal stop. Mr. Hendrix said I quote " I would be glad to do that if you can get Marion Co. to make a safe proper turn around." Roger Knight (205) 570-1971 says he has no problem helping any way he can. I called Mr. Hendrix again on Oct. 24th 2018. He asked is that not a safe bus stop at the Church of Christ. He went on to say they can't back the bus. I said if Mr. Knight will fix it there will be no backing up it will be a loop. He said he would if fixed. He also in response to the children walking at 6:30 Am in the winter when it is cold and dark that it is up to the parents how they get to the bus stop. He didn't seem worried about the safety of these children that are being affected by this change in stops. Thank you so much for helping get our children on the bus where it has ran for over 20 years. Please help us resolve this issue.
