Demand compensation for time wasted waiting for call centres to answer

We all know how frustrating it is in this internet age to have something go wrong and then to have to hang on, sometimes for over an hour, trying to get someone to talk to and to correct the fault. It is our, the public's, time that is wasted. It is time we stood up for ourselves and hit back. I propose that we should be compensated by law at the rate of £5 per minute wasted for every minute in excess of an initial five minute period.
