Remove the parking meter (kiosk) from 2669 Gratiot Ave., Detroit, MI 48207

Zeidman’s is one of Detroit’s oldest businesses, since 1923 who has been helping hundreds of thousands of residents of Detroit and surrounding areas in times of need for their monetary issues .The placement of the parking meter in front of our establishment with minimal signage and penalizing our customers with outrageous prices of parking tickets has been detrimental to the business. We are targeted by multiple meter officers daily that are cycling through our area approximately every 10-15 minutes trying to catch our customers. We have hundreds of customers who are senior citizens who have been doing business with us for decades and may not understand how to use the new meter (kiosk) and are confused by it. Since there is only one meter (kiosk), in one location, some of our customers don't even see the meter. Our customers cannot afford the prices of parking tickets and have stopped coming to our business. We have had many angry customers complaining about the meter and prices of the parking tickets. We have already seen a decline in our business since the installation of the parking meter.

Zeidman’s has always been a huge supporter of the City of Detroit, their police and fire departments and several charitable organizations have always received Zeidman’s support. Therefore, we are asking that the City of Detroit to remove the parking meter (kiosk) that is in front of our building.
