In memory of Cecil the lion, demand justice!

It’s been a while since Cecil’s death. Walter Palmer walked freely back to work in Minnesota, USA and claims innocence and cowardly blames his guides who got charged in Zimbabwe but A) didn’t he see the lion being illegally lured out of his sanctuary by dragging a dead animal as bait? B) Wasn’t he the one to shoot the lion with his crossbow to weaken it, once out of the protected park? C)  Didn’t he see the lion was being blinded with powerful spotlight while he himself pulled the trigger? D) Why did the Zimbabwe government demand him to return to face trial? Do all of the above still make him so innocent?   No, he’s not innocent just because he is a U.S. citizen. He should face trial here set by the US government to tell the world we are fair. What do you think his guides must be thinking of him now, getting away scot free while they are charged with crime. These are some of the reasons why Walter Palmer is not innocent:

1) It was wrong of him not to share Cecil’s beauty with the world, a unique lion with a black and gold combo mane. Instead, he wrongfully and selfishly took his life to add to the collection on his wall.

2) It was wrong to take him away from all the people who loved him. The tourist industry was booming because of his star quality.

3) It was wrong to take him away from a research program.

4) It was wrong of him to have his guides lure him out of Cecil’s protected park. He knew not to shoot Cecil in his protected park but to wait until Cecil was completely out of it before he shot him with the crossbow. This was pre-planned obviously.

 5) It was wrong of him to have shot Cecil with a cross bow and made him suffer for a long agonizing 40 hours, a torturous time for Cecil severely wounded for one and a half days dragging to escape your attackers. It was very unsportsmanlike.

 6) It was wrong to blind him while he was resting with a high density spot light, aim with a gun and kill him. That’s illegal in many states because it’s cowardly and inhumane.

7) It was wrong to behead this beautiful creature and to skin him.

 8) It was wrong to do all this and expect us to forget it all happened, because we HAVEN’T!!

Demand that justice be brought to this cold-hearted, inhumane man, Walter Palmer, who calls himself trophy hunter. US Dept. of Justice and US Fish and Wildlife are supposed to be investigating this matter. We’d like to know the result of these investigations and a fair trial be had here in the U.S. for all animal lovers’ sake worldwide, if not in Zimbabwe.

The above image is not of Cecil, but the only one available of a lion.

Update #38 years ago
The Obama Admin. will put lions in central & W. Africa on endangered list. Lions in S. & E. Africa likeTanzania, Zimbabwe in threatened list. Result is stricter criteria for import of live lions, parts. Trophies from endangered list countries are mostly prohibited with limited exceptions. But hunters could still import from countries where only threatened. We haven't won yet. Cecil and our WILL made this happen for other lions. We must stop enclosed lion hunting too! Pls. keep sharing.

Zimbabwe gave up on charging trophy hunter Palmer but we, the American people are against attrocities of killing unique animals for pleasure. Cecil's cubs will hopefully survive and carry on his good genes. We must stop these hunters from killing innocent animals on our earth.

Cecil's death should not go in vain. Trophy hunting should be made illegal worldwide as we must all oppose it. Join me in this quest.
