Please sign and share this petition so that New Jersey will implement and enforce special animal adoption regulations that will ensure animals are sent to good, happy and stable homes. All too often, people are allowed to adopt more animals than they can care for, which is unfair to the families and the animals relying on them for their health and well-being.
Just recently, a home in the New Jersey area was suspect of animal abuse and an overpowering stench. Animal control officers seized four dogs, four rats, two ferrets, six rabbits and two birds from a New Jersey home where they found the animals and adults living in squalor. Not only did they purchase some of the animals, they adopted others. The people quickly became overwhelmed and were unable to care for all their pets.
Aside from trash, food and feces littering the home, there was also an infestation of flies and other parasites. These people should not have been allowed to adopt all of these animals and put them in harm’s way when so many happy, healthy homes and families could provide for their needs. Some facilities just want to get rid of the animals and don’t even ensure they go to good homes.

New Jersey State Legislators – You need to implement special laws and regulations regarding the adoption of animals to new families. If adoption facilities were regulated to follow special protocol as enforced by law, so many animals would not be placed in homes like this one where they found the four dogs, four rats, two ferrets, six rabbits and two birds and these owners that were living in filth. The owners even admitted they could not provide for the animals. Execute specific regulations that every adoption agency must follow and such a situation would not repeat itself.
