Palm Oil may have the benefit of the highest yield per hectare among vegetable oil-yielding crops, meaning that less land is required for production but the way its being grown right now is having a huge impact on wildlife and the environment!
By signing this petition we are saying that we refuse to be part of wildlife extinctions and catastrophic deforestation and would like a sustainable choice in our breakfast cereals from Kellogg.
The choice is ours, catastrophic deforestation and no home for amazing wildlife both plant and animal. Or Sustainable Palm Oil where we have rainforests and the amazing wildlife living within it.
Please sign to show that we want the Sustainable Choice...
Dear CEO of Kellogg's, John Bryant,
I am very concerned about the effects of non-sustainable palm oil production on rain-forests in Indonesia, Malaysia and Africa. At the rate that the rain-forests are being cut down with zero regard for nature and wildlife, orangutans and many other species will be extinct in a few years. Research scientists have been ringing the alarm bells for years and as a socially responsible corporation, I am sure Kellogg's is aware of the issues.
As one of the growing number of socially responsible corporations in America which is assuming a leadership role in the environment, I am urging you to switch your use of Greenpalm Certificates to Certified Sustainable Palm Oil immediately. Greenpalm certificates have done little in the way of conservation and with pressure building on forests everywhere, it is simply not enough. Millions of these certificates have been sold in the name of producing sustainable palm oil and yet the threats facing wildlife and the global environment are growing every day.
Certified sustainable palm oil is conveniently available today from Agropalma in Brazil, New Britain Palm oil in the UK and Sime Darby in Asia to fill all your needs wherever your factories are. I urge you to please switch to 100% RSPO certified sustainable palm oil immediately.
I would like to remain one of your customers, however I am committed to supporting only those companies that adopt CERTIFIED sustainably sound practices. I look forward to reading about your new commitment to global sustainability in your use of 100% certified sustainable palm oil.
