On May 28, 2014 a public meeting was held at Green County courthouse in Monroe, WI by the Green County Zoning committee to discuss the conditional use permit allowing Sweet Minihaha Campground to operate as a campground and river outfitter.
The 7 neigbors in attendance of the public hearing gave only negative input. The zoning board approved Sweet Minihaha Campground to operate as it has in the past, all sites in tact, for the 2014 season. Beginning in 2015, Sweet Minihaha Campground must observe 100' set back from the North, East and South lot lines. The set back is to return to nature less any noxious weeds. This results in a loss of 31 campsites along with 4 large group sites. Roads, tube/yard, maintenance area and any other developments must be moved or removed. The zoning board also has reduced the number of people allowed per site from 6 to 4. With reduction of sites and customers this may be enough to close Sweet Minihaha. Another issue that was addressed was the live music. The zoning board has allowed Sweet Minihaha Campground to have live music 10 times a season, Saturday only 7pm-10:30pm.
We the undersigned hear by affirm that we are in favor of allowing Sweet Minihaha Campground to operate as a campground and river outfitter at N4697 County Road E, Brodhead 53520. We are also in favor of granting a variance to reduce setback requirements. Futhermore we would like the zoning board to allow more live music/entertainment. We want it every weekend and twice on the 3 holiday weekends in the summer.
