The residents of Coto de Caza and Orange County, California, petition the County of Orange to refuse rezoning of Planning Area 21 in Coto de Caza, CA for residential development.
Rezoning of Planning Area 21 may jeopardize a precious resource enjoyed by the community and general public – The Coto de Caza Equestrian Center. The most recent conceptual Site Plan #22 from the broker/developer shows that 2.2 acres of the existing Coto de Caza Equestrian Center would be converted into homes. Within Site Plan #22, they show provisions for new stalls so that the stable is not in a short term threat.
Orange County has already lost numerous equestrian facilities to development and this rezoning potentially impacts the long term future for the Coto de Caza Equestrian Center. We contend that our County’s horses need protection in the same way other wildlife is protected.
This site is designed with the sole purpose of keeping the Coto de Caza Equestrian Center preserved as a community resource for future generations.
We, the undersigned, demand that the Orange County Planning and Zoning Commission refuse rezoning of planning area 21 in Coto de Caza, CA.
