DEMAND THE PROTECTION OF THE NORTHWEST PASSAGE ENDANGERED SPECIES FROM TANKERS AND CRUISE SHIPS

ARCTIC ANIMALS AND MARINE LIFE NEED OUR VOICES! This already fragile ecosystem home to seven endangered species is dealing with never before seen waste & contamination invading their Arctic habitat.

This is the perfect time to recirculate this petition. We had a small window of time to get signatures the1st time and to present to a U.N. Agenda Mtg, They don't accept petitions.

Let's get more signatures. Will be sending to the U.S. White House President Biden's Administration "Envioronmenal Justice Advisory Board" and "Committee on Climate Crisis".

Ask the "Biden Admistrations "Environmental Justice Advisory Board" and "Committe on Climate Crisis"  conduct an Environmental Impact Study/emphasis on tankers & cruise ships; current & future impact usage of the Northwest Passage or commission an independent, impartial qualified entity to conduct the study. Results of this study for Laws to be implemented for all merchant ships using the passage.

SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE – SUGGESTED PRIOR TO STUDY COMPLETION Set a maximum trips allowed monthly thru the passage. There is too much at risk. The passage is not only home to seven (7) endangered species indigenous only to the area, it is also home to (10) species of threatened status of which only 3 are non-indigenous. Declare the land on both sides of the entire route ( at least 1 mile inland) and the passage waters as well, as wildlife sanctuary, prevents building of structures, ports or drilling. The exception being wildlife monitoring posts.

A usage permit program for all Merchant vessels using the passage. One Permit per ship/per trip. The cost of these permits, ex: an Environmental Fee Permit, could cover the costs for hiring qualified personnel to monitor, clean up etc., the passage. Declare the land along the passage and the passage itself sanctuary, with permit issued use, making it self funded & giving the passage the badly needed infrastructure for reducing disaster risk and pollution.

Thank you for signing.

A quick update. Due to printer malfunction extending 1 more week. I'm personalizing each mailing envelope with Arctic wildlife & putting the documents going with the signatures into a report/proposal format. Goal is to mail out by Dec. 1st.

Hi everyone, we're close to 3000 signatures & I've extended the petition to the 30th. I'm sending pre petition info to the 2 UN agency's this next week. I am so proud to say we have signers from every corner of the globe. From the largest to the smallest country's. When I close on the 30th and before its delivered, I will be notifying a few of our media people that are pro our cause about the petition delivered. Thank you for taking on this gigantic & overwhelming cause.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for signing. The 1st petition I started I accidentally closed so we have close to 3000 signatures. I have faith, I know we'll make it and we will make a difference. I've decided to extend the petition end date. When the time comes to send it I will send out an update with the plan on how it will be delivered, date, time & where it will be delivered.

Thank you for signing my Care2 Petition. In researching this, I could not find anything regarding impact studies being done or any "real" rules/laws in place to monitor this fragile ecosystem and the onslaught of ships wanting to, planning to and currently using the passage. This is not acceptable. Thank you again.
