FREE ZEUS WHO HAS SPENT HIS ENTIRE LIFE OUTSIDE ON A CHAIN

  • by: Lynn Robertson

Zeus is a Great Pyrenees dog that has spent his entire life on a chain in the rural town of Elizaville, New York. His only refuge is a run down, open aired dog house with nothing to shield him from the elements. In times of severe weather, neighbors have called cruelty investigators from the local Colombia-Greene Humane Society. Zeus is still outside living at the end of a chain.

In January, 2014, Zeus was literally frozen to the ground. A neighbor and advocate for Zeus demanded the authorities take action. Still nothing was done and Zeus remained outside.

This time, advocates around the globe rallied for Zeus, and a lawsuit was filed by the law offices of Matthew Albert on a pro bono basis, urging New York State Supreme Court Justice Raymond Elliott, to mandate that the state police enforce the animal cruelty laws that should make Zeus's treatment illegal.

Section 371 of Ag + Markets Law states that Police Officers MUST enforce all shelter violations.

Justice Elliott came to the conclusion that it is "DISCRETIONARY for the New York State Police to comply with all the provisions of the New York State Agricultural and Markets Laws," even though Zeus' shelter was in blatant violation of the law. Lawyers backed that up with photographs and other forms of documentary evidence.

Zeus still remains outside.

Be the voice for Zeus.... save his life and demand justice for him now!!!!!
