Removing Sexist, Gender Specific Rules

Everyone has heard about gender equality and feminism, and sometimes they are cast in bad light. Feminism is not trying to make women superior to men; it is simply the right to be seen as equal to men. Equality and freedom to be who you are, while not hurting others, is the driving principle that founded this country and needs to be upheld in every public serving establishment from schools to business.
School is a semi-professional environment that is meant for teaching youth and while it is understandable that there are dress code regulations, they are gender specific. Girls may not have shorts above 2 inches above their knee, but this rule doesn't apply to males. The consent that men cannot wear shorts is out dated. Both these ideas are sexist against both men and women. In reverse, males are not allowed to wear tank-tops or muscle shirts. Girls are allowed to wear tank-tops, as long as they are not spaghetti straps. Change the rules, so that they are no longer gender specific; support equal treatment for all, because no one should be subjugated due to the matter of gender or their preferred gender status.
