AFFLICTION

Je n’étais qu’un pauvre chien aux abois,

Lorsque tu m’as trouvé à l’orée d’un bois,

L’homme au grand cœur m’a offert un toit,


Comme un vieux couple, je devinais tes pensées,

A tes côtés, je n’étais plus ce vieux corniaud sans collier,

Merveilleux moments de complicité et d’amitié,


Mais un jour, ton sourire jovial s’est effacé,

Peu à peu, tes rides se sont creusées,

La souffrance s’est figée sur ton visage émacié,


Un crabe insidieux ravageait tes entrailles,

Pauvre moribond à la pâleur spectrale,

De toi, je n’entendais qu’un faible son guttural,



Ta main effleura mon museau dans un ultime câlin,

Au petit matin, dans un dernier souffle tu t’es éteint,

Ne laissant que la tristesse dans mon cœur de chien,


Plus jamais tu ne flatteras mon vieux dos,

Pour tes proches, je n’étais qu’un lourd fardeau,

Sans considération, ils m’ont laissé seul près d’un caniveau,


Furtif, tu te faufiles dans mes rêves comme une ombre,

Mais un jour prochain, je m’endormirai sur ta tombe

Et plus rien ne sera jamais sombre.


La vie est éphémère, mais l’amour et la tendresse

Sont éternels.

Today, I would like to refer to a subject of which we speak only too little and which concerns the abandonment of animals on the death of their master.
Many people (all ages) are currently living with a four-legged companion. Unfortunately, as everyone knows, life can stop abruptly (illness, accident, old age, etc.)

For having worked a few years in the funeral sector, this type of event creates a real upheaval and deep sadness within a family.

But when is it the animal that lived daily with the deceased?
Unfortunately, in most cases, the poor beast becomes a burden for everyone. Relatives do not wish to be bothered by the latter.
Nobody takes into account his disarray and his pain.
The more cowardly will leave him in the wild or ask for euthanasia, others will drop him at the door of a refuge to give himself a good conscience.

The fidelity of our companions is limitless, their affliction is profound.
Despite everything, they receive no compassion and are thrown away like ordinary rubbish.

Many dogs and cats have died of despair.

A secretariat of animal welfare, independent of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been proposed. Apparently Mr. Emmanuel Macron was rather refractory to this request.
Consequently :

- What are your short and medium term plans to end animal maltreatment in all its forms?
It would be imperative to create new shelters for the care of these poor animals who had become orphans after the death of their masters, in order to regulate the congestion of the shelters.

The problem also arises for the elderly, separated from their pet by obligation, retirement homes are not equipped to allow residents to keep close to them their faithful companion.
The lack of consideration for animal welfare in this country is simply unacceptable.
The new head of state wants big changes, making France a great European power.
I just want to recall a sentence full of common sense:
"One recognizes the greatness and value of a nation in the way that it treats its animals" - Ganghi

Despite the revolt of the French citizens, the martyrdom of the animals is in perpetual increase.
"
France must be a chance for all" (slogan of Emmanuel Macron)
I think it is urgent that our animals also benefit from this opportunity by offering them the protection, respect and dignity they deserve.
