Say NO to Drilling in Yellowstone National Park!

  • by: Chris Wolverton
  • recipient: Wyoming gubernatorial candidate Taylor Haynes

Yellowstone National Park is home to bald eagles, grizzlies, wolves and other native wildlife and remains a popular tourist destination for those who want a break from modern technology and a chance to reconnect with nature. But Wyoming gubnernatorial candidate Taylor Haynes (R) wants to tarnish Yellowstone's purity and peaceful landscape with oil rigs.

Haynes aims to allow all public lands in Wyoming -- including Yellowstone -- to be turned over to the state and leased for drilling, mining and grazing.

A clear majority two-thirds of Wyoming citizens, including Republicans, are in favor of conservation. The public does not want drilling in Yellowstone, and the damage of oil rigs would forever tarnish one of the most iconic national preserves in the country. Please sign the petition to urge Taylor Haynes to reconsider his stance on drilling in Yellowstone!

We, the undersigned, are concerned with your promotion of drilling and mining in Wyoming's public lands, including Yellowstone National Park.

Yellowstone National Park is home to bald eagles, grizzlies, wolves and other native wildlife and remains a popular tourist destination for those who want a break from modern technology and a chance to reconnect with nature. Tarnishing Yellowstone with oil rigs would considerably detract from its beauty, lower its appeal to tourists and compromise the health of animals and employees who live and work there.

A clear majority two-thirds of Wyoming citizens, including Republicans, are in favor of conservation. The public does not want drilling in Yellowstone, and the damage of oil rigs would forever tarnish one of the most iconic national preserves in the country. We respectfully urge you to reconsider your stance on drilling in Yellowstone. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
