Prison time for a woman who killed two dogs

Griselda Martinez was travelling in a van when she and a friend stopped to put coolant in the van's air conditioning system. On routine patrol, area police saw the open doors of the van and approached. She immediately shut the doors, but when requested by police, she opened the van doors to find thirteen dogs in cages without benefit of water. Some of the dogs were in distress, foaming at the mouth; some were covered in feces and one English bulldog and one French bulldog died of heat stroke. The remaining eleven dogs were taken to an animal hospital, and their whereabouts are unknown as the animal hospital did not return my call. All of this occurred with the temperatures in the 80 to 90 degree range. She has been charged with two counts of felony aggravated cruelty to animals and eleven counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals. Her court date is September 8th. I am petitioning the court to have her sentenced to prison time....and not just a slap on the hand.
