On November 4, 2014, the people of Washington did something few politicians seem willing or able to do: they passed a common-sense gun law that will save lives.
By a clear majority, Washingtonians voted to expand background checks to cover ALL purchases, including those at gun shows and between two private buyers. This simple piece of legislation will help protect people by keeping gun purchases out in the open.
There's no reason this kind of legislation can't pass in all 50 states! We're tired of waiting on politicians to pass laws to keep us safe. They're not willing to take the political risk of going up against the gun lobby. But we don't have to wait on politicians.
