Save the Hyasinth Macaw

Other than yellow eye rings and a tiny yellow chin patch, the hyacinth macaw is spectacularly plumed in rich cobalt-blue feathers. The largest of all parrots, this distinctive bird reaches a length of more than 3 feet. Once common throughout its range in the rain forests of South America, the hyacinth macaw is now endangered due to habitat loss and because of its popularity in the exotic pet trade.
