There is a growing out cry for higher pay w/benifits for Certified Nursing Assistance and Home Health Aides.The cost of healthcare is and has been on the rise for the last past 10 years in the state of Florida..Nursing facilities and Home Healthcare Agencies are making Billions of dollars,but the core position and "the must important" in my opinion are the Certified Nursing Assistance.This needs to stop yesterday..I would like to petiton for all CNA's in the state Florida to get a base pay of $15.00 plus experience and shift differential with benifits..Home Health Aides should receive 65% of what they are contracted out for.And we can do it!.I'm currentlly working for a company as a CNA PRN position @ $12hr with no benifits or time and half pay on holidays..I asked the administator why don't you offer Insurance and she will have it next year..I was very upset with that answer,which stocked the coals of a fire that has been burning inside me since 1999 when it comes to working as a CNA.I know Florida is a rigth to work state,but it's also a right to rise up and fight state!When it comes to the Health industry we as CNA's couldn't be in a better location...Florida is a retirement haven for millions and being a CNA isn't for everyone so that makes us as CNA's more valuble then corperation wants you to believe..We take care of families and It's time to rise up and demand better pay w/benifits for our families as well!
