We found Pal, a chihuahua running along a main street here in Brampton, Ontario in July of 2015. We brought him to the vet but no microchip was detected. We took him to the shelter, however the shelter was closed, so Pal stayed with us for the next 24 hrs. While in our care, we fell in love with him. We wanted to keep him, but we wanted to go about adopting him the proper way. Monday came and animal services picked him up. We were told that if no one came to claim him we could adopt after 72 hrs. While at the shelter we found out about the neglect at home. The owner worked long hrs at which point the dog was at home by himself, without food, water and company. We had notified the shelter and phoned everyday but all they said was theyd investigate. After leaving his dog alone at the shelter for 72 hrs, he went and got him. We didn't hear from Pal or his owner again until this morning.

I am a member of all paws rescue group here in brampton, and a post was shared by a main member. Photos of a dog named Pal in critical condition, the pictures showed his bones, it appeared to me like starvation, along with a photo of the owner.

My heart sank instantly as tears came running down my face. This poor pup died from neglect, and he appears to have been starved from the pictures gathered. That same puppy we had rescued, cared for and fell in love with, suffered such a tragic death and someone needs to take fault, we just want justice for Pal.

The ospca has been notified, an investigation is under way. An autopsy will be performed as well.

He was the most beautiful, loving, and kind dog I've ever encountered. My heart broke into millions of pieces at the news that his owner could do this to him. I can't imagine the pain and loneliness the poor thing felt. There is NO excuse as to what happened here, and we the voice of the animals, who don't have one, want to be heard!!
