As a teacher in boys independent schools for many years, where both caning and the leather tawse were used on a daily basis.
I feel with the state of our schools nowadays, it is time to stop tip toeing around in our classrooms, and bring back tough CORPORAL PUNISHMENT.
Students will observe other students punishments as well as their own punishment. I can assure you this will in - turn change those students who are unruly, impertinent, and think they can treat teaching staff how they please.
It will instil fear back into our classrooms and schools.
Breed a new kind of student, to respect both his peers and superiors.
With proper corporal punishment in place along side the teaching curriculum, attitudes, exam results and standards will increase to what they were, rather than the decrease we have witnessed over the past twenty and more years.
