Save Canadian Coyotes From Becoming Expensive Jackets!

Coats made of real coyote fur are popular in Canada, but they represent terrible cruelty to coyotes. The coyotes are not dispatched quickly with a bullet. Instead, they are caught in traps where they die slow agonizing deaths from cold, shock, and dehydration. The coats sell for up to $700, a high price to pay and far too high when you weigh the suffering of an animal.

Please join me in asking the Parliament of Canada to outlaw products that use coyote fur except for those that are harvested on Native American hunting licenses.

Dear Canadian Parliament Members:

I was shocked to learn how popular coyote coats are in Canada--even, it appears, among college students. Clearly, these consumers have not thought through the terrible suffering of the animal whose pelt they are wearing. Trapping is about the most inhumane way to hunt an animal. Coyotes are sometimes caught for days in these traps, dying slowly of dehydration and terror. Please outlaw products made with coyote fur with the exception of products harvested on a native American hunting license.
