Esto es una invitación para vetar la obra de un artista costarricense. Este artista cometió un acto de tortura que tiene lugar en este mundo supuestamente "civilizado" ni en el arte.

This is an invitation to boicot the the work of a costa rican artist. This artist commited an act of torture that has no place in this supposedly "civilized" world nor in art.

En el año 2007, Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, un supuesto artista, tomó a un perro abandonado de la calle, lo ató a una cuerda cortísima en la pared de una galería de arte y lo dejó allí para que muriera lentamente de hambre y sed.

In 2007, Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, a so called artist, took an abandoned dog from the streets, tied him to a very short rope to a wall in an art gallery and left him there to slowly die of hunger and thrist.

Durante varios días, el autor de semejante crueldad y los visitantes de la galería de arte presenciaron impasibles la agonía del pobre animal. Hasta que finalmente murió de inanición, seguramente tras haber pasado por un doloroso, absurdo e incomprensible calvario.

During several days, the author of such cruelty and the visitors of the gallery of art watched the agony of this animal. Until the dog finally died of famine, surely after a painful, absurd and incomprehensible torture.

Pues eso no es todo: la prestigiosa Bienal Centroamericana de Arte
decidió, incomprensiblemente, que la salvajada que acababa de cometer
este sujeto era arte, y Guillermo Vargas Habacuc ha sido invitado a repetir su cruel acción en dicha Bienal en 2008.

There is no way possible to call this art, it's murdering an animal. And weather the dog was going to pass or not, letting an animal die on display is just plain cruel and wrong. At least if he was in his own surroundings and environement he could of had a chance of surviving, you never gave him the chance to see if he could do it on his own you tied him up and left him to die a painful, drawn out death. You cannot call letting people watch this poor, innocenct, helpless animal die art, art may not always be beautiful and perfect but the death of a defenceless animal is not in any way shape or form art and should never be considered as such.

"The purpose of the work was not to cause any type of infliction on the poor, innocent creature, but rather to illustrate a point. In my home city of San Jose, Costa Rica, tens of thousands of stray dogs starve and die of illness each year in the streets and no one pays them a second thought. Unfortunatley, in our world Guillermo's message is a reality. Millions of stray dogs roam the streets all over the world and very few people do anything about it. Although I don't agree with what he did, he's bringing a harsh reality to light. I certainly don't think this act should be repeated, but instead, I hope this bring change to the world and makes people proact and want to do something about it!
