Backyard breeding i.e. puppy farms, kitten mills, guinea pig mills, mice farms, bird farms, fish farms, chicken farms etc will continue to exist as long as newspapers support them. The only way to stop the breeding is to stop all outlets of sale. This includes sources such as newspaper advertising, online advertising, weekend markets, signs outside private houses, retail outlets etc etc.
The grey pups pictured are being sold for $800. The breeder will make $6400 from this litter. The mother will be bred twice a year until her exhausted body can only produce 1 or 2 pups and then she will be disposed of because she is no longer viable. How many more dogs does this breeder have? The same fate exists for cats, guinea pigs, mice, chickens, birds etc etc.
