Under Folsom's city charter, the city council appoints Folsom's Mayor, from within the existing council. I've worked hard to change this process; however, I couldn't gain support from our previous city council, even though the majority want this.
I want to give YOU the ability to directly elect YOUR Mayor. Council Members are ALL elected at large, however the Mayor is not YOUR choice.
I've asked our current Mayor to bring this item back to the council for discussion with our newly elected council members, with no action so far. So, I ask you to sign this petition, and let them know, you don't want a Mayor selected for you; you want to VOTE for your Mayor!

If the mayor doesn't bring this agenda item to the council to debate by March 1st, I will force the ballot initiative by enacting a citizen's referendum, bypassing the council to get this issue onto your ballot, so Folsom residents can decide.
