Telephone companies are purely rubbing their clients and forcing comsuption by puting an end date to are phone credit. No phone credit can be stamps like perishable goods as it doesn't rotten in time. It's a control way of forcing the consumer to use or lose all of is credit in a certain time. Letting him in a situation that he must purchase more credit even if he still have some remaining.
It's a scam for comsuption and should be stop. The solution is that the service should simply finish in a "prepaid" plan when the "credit" as all been used and not caused by a fictive date. And on a monthly Plan the "credit" should just ad-up to your next month credit and not disappeared in to thin air.
