End the SEIU Hold over Disneyland Main Entrance Cast Members

Over 700,000 Californians make up SEIU in California; they work throughout the state, in all 58 counties, and they represent California in all of its diversity. The union supports social workers, nurses, classroom aides, state workers, security officers, college professors, home care workers, janitors, & more….##

THEY DO NOT SUPPORT OR REPRESENT US AND OUR UNIQUE NEEDS AT THE MAIN GATE OF DISNEYLAND !

This union works in four primary areas: healthcare, long-term care, public services (both state workers & local), & building services. ##

DISNEYLAND MAIN ENTRANCE CAST MEMEBERS ARE NOT IN ANY OF THE FOUR PRIMARY AREAS THIS UNION WORKS !

**Disneyland Workers: The giant theme park opened with all union employees in 1955 and since then the workforce has been divided into three major sectors: entertainment, building and construction and service. USWW, the Hotel and Restaurant Employees and the United Food and Commercial Workers unions represent the service workers at the Disneyland and at California Adventure. In 1984 all three sectors underwent a major battle to maintain wages and benefits for Disneyland workers. Now more than 2,000 employees at Disneyland and California Adventure are members of USWW.

WE DO NOT WORK IN THE HOTELS OR SERVE FOOD !

I believe this is not good enough for a union and its stewards to take our money as dues each week and not represent us at the Disneyland Resort Main Entrance fairly, professional & with respect. We are unique and have very specific issues about our poor treatment, lack of support and value as “part of the show.” This union has forgotten us in our times of need ... to not allow us as a group fare wages and to be forced to accept below bare minimum as an acceptable standard of living in our society is outrageous. Paying the Living Wage is good for business, good for the individual and good for the Disney Brand. We want out of this Union and a refund of our dues.
