Ask parliamentary candidates to commit to £10 an hour minimum wage

The current minimum wage of £6.50 an hour in the UK is not enough to live on, even if people are working full time.

£10 an hour would cover basic living costs for an individual working full time.

Sign now to email your parliamentary candidates asking them to support a demand for a £10 an hour minimum wage.

Many workers are forced to get benefits to top up their pay in order to survive, and more people than ever are having to go to food banks to avoid starvation. Effectively, taxpayers are subsidising businesses, who go on to make huge profits for their shareholders, whilst their employees suffer in poverty.

My job involves helping people with learning disabilities live a fulfilling life, but my low wage severely limits what I can afford to do outside work.

There is no excuse for paying somebody less than they need to survive. There is an election on 7th May. Ask your parliamentary candidates if they support a £10 an hour minimum wage.
Dear [candidate],

The current minimum wage in the UK is not enough to live on, even if people are working full time.

£10 an hour would cover basic living costs for an average working family.

Please support the demand for a £10 an hour minimum wage. This is supported by TUSC - the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition. Will you support it too?
