Grant Access to Youth in Low Income & Rural Communities, Help!

What:
Youth who reside in low income and rural communities are less likely to have access to community resources/services: tutors/mentors, academic tutoring, and mentoring in character/life skills development, social, service and spiritual learning and workforce readiness skills: career options, career planning, career explorations etc.

Why:
Because these youth reside in communities of poverty, high crime or isolation from the center of resources they're often overlooked. Additionally, many traditional youth mentoring programs are tied to the resources of Federal/State/Local grants that won't allow service beyond the safe harbor of the after school programs situated at district schools and therefore low income and rural students are negatively impacted. Further, these students don't attend the after school programs for the very reasons their communities don't have access to resources: school districts/traditional programs don't invest resources, parents can't afford the after school program (low income), and parents can't afford the transportation costs for after school program pickup (low income/residence in a rural community).

What:
Good Sports - USA youth mentoring program is seeking your support in bringing youth mentoring programs and services to youth who reside in low income and rural communities. Through building a sustainable and national chain of non-profit Good Sports - USA retail stores that collect donated, used sports equipment, sports gear and sports apparel Good Sports - USA will designate earned resources from donated sales to fulfill its mission and services to youth who reside in low income and rural communities.

Additionally, Good Sports - USA retail stores will serve to offer youth from these communities on the job employment education, training and employment opportunities.
