Animal shelters all across the U.S. are using euthanasia as a way to combat overcrowding in the facilities. This killing of innocent animals is animal cruelty, and must be stopped! These poor souls are given the death sentence just because they are temporarily homeless.
When prisons and jails are overcrowded, society does not kill the surplus. As schools become full, society does not euthanize children. As hospitals and nursing homes overflow, society does not kill the seniors. Why then should our four legged friends be subjected to this atrocity? There are sanctuaries, no kill shelters, and willing fosters that can be utilized. Animals can be shifted around to different shelters in areas with higher adoption rates.
God gave man cats and dogs to be companions, service aides, and soul mates. Pets have been known to save their humans`lives. The Lord also gave man the responsibility to care for these pets. Killing these poor innocent animals is not taking care of them. Animal cruelty is a felony in most states; and euthanasia is animal cruelty.
PLEASE take a stand against this unnecessary killing of these poor defensive animals. Write to local, state, and federal officials, begging them to pass laws to save these animals. Ask them to please allocate more funds to the shelters to build more and to enlarge existing shelters. Our tax money can be used for this project as well as it can be used to care for illegal immigrants pouring over the border. Please be the voice for these animals. Thank you.
