Way back in the 50s and late 70s the crossing level was the main connector between Kikuyu west and Kikuyu town. But unfortunately a man of Asian origin was killed by the train and this led to segregation of the Africans on the other side of Kikuyu railway station. Ondire, Mega, Rumwe, Karai ,Muslims, Reguti, Ma ya ihii, Kamangu and Nderi village residence until now suffer this segregation. The fact is that over 1 million people are affected. we are locked in our own houses now after the construction of the current railway station.
We the people of the said areas now demand that the said crossing level be reinstated. We are tied of walking 6 km to Kikuyu town while we can do the sane in 3 minutes. Our old men and women not mentioning the school going children will be affected.
