Petition to Advance Rail Safety Programs for Metrolink

The inadequacy of rail safety in Los Angeles, California has resulted in many accidents and collisions over the years. If this situation is not improved, many more lives will be lost in senseless incidents.

I, the undersigned, would like to start a petition to protest the inadequacy of rail safety in Los Angeles, California.

Los Angeles firefighters stated that "nearly two dozen people suffered injuries, some minor, when a commuter train struck a car near downtown Los Angeles and partially derailed." It is reported that out of 21 people, only one suffered minor injuries after the Metrolink commuter train collided with a car on Saturday, March 28. It is prudent to further efforts in ensuring the safety of the public by means of escalating rail safety policies. It had not been but a month since the previous accident that injured around 50 people.

I implore the Southern California Regional Rail Authority to put into effect a more sizable effort to introduce a protocol that alleviates the potential of these incidents occurring in the future.

The undersigned,
Lizzie Mendoza - Marketing Consultant for Water Service Upgrade Inc
