Tell Judge James H. Payne to not send Dr. Carpenter to prison!

In February of this year Dr. Antonella Carpenter was convicted of fraud. Here is the description found on the US Attorney's Office website: "Following a 15-day trial before U.S. District Judge James H. Payne, a jury found Carpenter, 71, of Tulsa, guilty on 29 of the 41 counts alleged in a Superseding Indictment, and were unable to come to a unanimous decision on 3 counts of the Superseding Indictment. Carpenter was charged with five counts of inducing persons to travel in interstate commerce in an effort to defraud them of at least $5,000; 34 counts of using interstate wire communications to defraud patients; and two counts of using the United States mails in furtherance of a fraudulent scheme. "

What it doesn't say is that she had a dozen (yes, 12) witnesses testify on her behalf, stating how she saved lives, either their own or their spouse or other relative. It also doesn't say how there were only six witnesses for the prosecution stating that she defrauded them or their relative. In spite of these skewed numbers, however, Dr. Carpenter was found guilty of fraud, and is facing prison time.

When her business was raided by the FDA in 2012, they took all of her equipment and money in the premises, which just so happened to be all that she had at that time. She shortly after the raid was evicted from her rental home, and lost most of her possessions, some of which she has had for over 40 years. She no longer had any way to make an income, and had to move in with family. She began drawing her Social Security benefits, which was not and is not a livable income. In spite of all of this, and the fact that she was just trying to help people, she is facing st least five years in prison, but it will more than likely be much more.

I just read an article about a man convicted of raping a semi-conscious woman who will be serving no time at all, yet she is facing dying in prison. She is over 70 years old, so any time in prison would be a death sentence for her. How could anything she did even compare to a rapist or child molester's case, yet those people are roaming our streets, preying on more victims, while she faces rotting behind bars?

Tell Judge Payne that sending Dr. Carpenter to prison for any length of time is unjust, and shouldn't happen. She shouldn't have been convicted in the first place, but at least let her stay with her family in her "Golden" years. Allow her to be a Grandmother to her three grandchildren. She is no longer a threat to the medical establishment and the FDA.
