Petition to unreasonable parking rules

Students of Texas A&M San Antonio University, more specifically, residents of Esperanza hall are agitated with the current parking situation of the residential parking lot. An abounded amount of tickets were distributed to vehicles parked in unassigned lots, without proper forms of restriction visible to students. It became apparent to the students that approximately 37 spaces are reserved through out the entirety of the day to residents, therefore 1/4 of the parking lot is reserved for faculty. Residential students feel that due to high expense in residence and in parking permits that the lot closest to their residential hall should be accessible at all hours. The residents also feel that due to these immense expenses that they should be a top priority of the parking lot most convenient for them. Upon another note first time offense parking tickets $60 and above is a strikingly large fee for a college student with a parking permit. Residents would like to see Texas A&M San Antonio University reasonably address these issues to fit the need and convenience of their students.
