Support Men’s Healing and Women’s Safety by Supporting “A New Day Program”

A New Day Program provides services to men at risk of using violence. Some of these services include individual and group counselling by appointment and drop in, session with partners for safety planning, and group counselling in the community and at NSCC (North Slave Correctional Center). Men can be self-referred to the program or mandated to participate.

A New Day Program is a Public Health Agency of Canada’s Aboriginal Best Practices Program. This program is a GNWT identified response to the TRC’s calls to action on healing the impacts of residential school trauma. A New Day Program also collaborates with other services such as; Probation, Parole, Social Services, and Wellness Court.
