Providence Saint John's RN's Covid-19 Demands!

  • by: Tatiana Molinar
  • recipient: Saint Johns RNs and those who care about them

Providence Saint John's nurses do not have the information or resources  to safely serve our community!

The Nurses of Saint Johns demand the following:

1) Transparency regarding in house Covid statistics, resource allocation, plans to accommodate Covid patients within the ministry.

2) Access to showers, beds and scrubs/uniforms for staff caring for Covid patients

3) Adequate PPE be provided, including but not limited to PAPRs, face shields, goggles, masks, gowns, buffant caps, shoe covers, gloves, and disinfectant wipes. That Providence invest in adequate PPE and not simply rely on donations and multiple uses for single use items.

4) Hazard pay & PTO for ALL staff whose units are impacted by Covid-19

5) 3:1 ratio with CNA's for all units outside of the ICU while caring for COVID-19 patients.

6) On site grievance counselors or chaplains dedicated to day and night staff

7) That EVS and maintenance workers be trained on properly donning and doffing, and that they are expected to regularly maintain our Covid rooms.

8) That staff caring for Covid patients are allowed to wear an N-95 without intimidation or threats.

We are counting on you to make the right decision and protect those of us on the front lines.
