Support Act That Will Ban Cruelty to Animals in Military Medical Practices

Legislation has been proposed known as the Battlefield Excellence through Superior Training (BEST) Practices Act (S. 587/H.R. 1095) that is geared towards phasing out the use of animals in medical training drills.  PETA has gotten involved in some of the practices where live pigs were used abusively during trauma training courses through an investigation that was held by the Deployment Medicine International (DMI). The DMI has been one of the leading providers of such cruel training for the military.

A recent investigation turned up shocking evidence of animal abuse, racism, homophobia, and reported drugging and sexual assault of military service members, among other charges of misconduct by military contractors of the DMI.  Disturbing video available in the link above highlights the fact that such practices are inexcusable by any member of the military in any branch of service, fully disregarding the regulations under the Battlefield Excellence through Superior Training (BEST) Practices Act (S. 587/H.R. 1095) which is geared at ending any cruel animal practices in military laboratories.

We want to ensure that the U. S. Congress is more diligent in enforcing this Act and this is the purpose of our petition in the name of animals without a voice allegedly subjected to undue cruelty in military practices, training and experimentation.  You can support our efforts by signing and sharing this petition.  We must let our voices be heard so that such cruelty is banned, enforced and animals protected.

U. S. Congress – The video and investigation that surfaced by PETA is very disturbing regarding a recent case where pigs were shot, along with some racism, homophobia, and sexual harassment as part of live tissue training in a military educational course.  The efforts of this petition and all who signed is to encourage you to please support the military in all branches and their humane treatment of animals by being more diligent in enforcing and promoting the Battlefield Excellence through Superior Training (BEST) Practices Act (S. 587/H.R. 1095).  We need you to be in full support of this Act that would phase out the cruel and archaic use of animals in military training exercises in favor of more effective modern human-patient simulators.  Please ensure that you support this evidence-based transition to the use of ethically and scientifically superior non-animal training methods that are already available and phase out any and all animal cruelty practices in the military through the Battlefield Excellence through Superior Training (BEST) Practices Act (S. 587/H.R. 1095).
