Support No Check, No Sale Legislation
A loophole in gun sale legislation allows individuals to have firearms if a background check isn't completed in 72 hours, even if they're not legally allowed to have them. On October 28th, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) introduced legislation that would close this dangerous loophole.
The Background Check Completion Act would close the "default to proceed" loophole and require a completed background check for all individuals to purchase a gun. According to FBI data, over 15,000 gun sales occurred over the past five years because of the loophole.
With the frightening frequency of mass shootings, we can no longer risk selling guns to potentially dangerous persons. Please sign the petition to urge U.S. Senators to pass the Background Check Completion Act!
