Stop elephant euthanazia

Since 2010, two elephants have been "rented" by a well know circus to a public park in the city of Lyon in France. Suddently the TWO elephants are "suspected" of being "infected" with tubercule bacilli.
However noone could demonstrare they are actually seek, if and how they could be a threat to human being. But "just in case" one sole person decide on her own of the death of these two animals.
No harm, no evidence, none causal link, no mitigation. Whatever...it is so easy to convict an animal to death, so economical (not for savings at a time of world wide crisis but to spend more public money in useless project)... .. especially at a time when election is coming
It appears that beyond the fate of the two pachyderm, ambition, ego, personal interest of human being are at stake in the local closed tiny circle and prevail on life... Humans need space for "new projects".
Whatever the ground behind this decision, please help us to remind them that animals do not exist to amuse human stupidity but they have rights : The rights to be free, the rights to live in their proper environment.
Because they have been deprived from their freedom and wild life, they can only be sent to a reserve where they would finally leave in peace far from demagogic arguments and stard to live.
Dear Mrs and Mr Ministers,
I am writing to you to claim for justice and freedom for the two elephants.
As reminded below, the fate of two pachyderm is now in your hands.

The fate of two elements of a disappearing specy of our planet have been left at the sole discretion of one person in a local tribunal far from the worldwide public interest
France is the country of human rights. It is high time to remember that since then, animal rights have been established and recognized by UN. Given the threat on the specy, please be a human, be fair.
I implore you to free these two helephants in a reserve where they would be released from human stupidy and may help the specy to survive by giving birth to new elephants so that all children of third millenium will know what an elephant is.
