140 Million Dollars in our tax money has been spent on road "improvements" along and near Johnnie Dodds Blvd in Mount Pleasant, SC.  Before the work is done, the concrete is hard and the money is gone, we are speaking up for safe, accessable bus stops and road crossings along this new road so residents of Mount Pleasant can continue to build better bus transit for the half of our community which can't drive an automobile.

Dear Elected Leader,

One Hundred and Forty Million Dollars has been spent on road "improvements" along Johnnie Dodds Blvd.  Please make sure that the finished road work includes comfortable, safe and accessabe bus stops for the 50% of our community which can't drive a car.  Do what you can to be sure that people aren't killed trying to cross traffic to get to a bus stop.

We've helped pay for this new road through sales taxes just as persons who drive cars have and we deserve a road which is better for bus riders, not worse. A better transit experience on this road will help restore ridership lost during construction, attract tourists, make businesses more profitable and reduce traffic congestion.  Lead us on the journey we make together towards a better East Cooper Transit System.

Sincerely,

William J. Hamilton, III
