Pets should be able to live in apartments!!!!!

I am a owner of a Pit Bull. I have been trying to find a new apartment and it's been IMPOSSIBLE! Every single apartment listing says NO PETS! Animal shelters are over-crowded with animals ( I know alot of it is becuase of abuse) But alot of the issue is people having to turn in their Pets because they are not allowed to have them. Its not fair. If anyone has any ideas in how to start to correct this or make people aware that pets have a right to have a home too, please let me know
