Demand an alternative to feather shuttlecocks in the sport of badminton

"The feathers are plucked from live geese — far more than will actually be used. Each feather plucking causes unbearable pain to the bird — much more than if you had your hair pulled out in clumps. The bird is caught by handlers and held down, its wings pulled open and dozens of feathers pulled out from its wings. It bleeds horribly. Each feather shaft is filled with blood."

No animal should have to suffer or die for sports! It is an absolute disgrace that in this day and age (with the most sophisticated technology available to us) badminton players accross the world are forced to use feather shuttlecocks in order to compete at a competitive level. We want an appropriate synthetic alternative to feather shuttlecocks! A player should have a choice whether he or she wants to partake in such cruelty to animals and should not be discriminated against or told they can no longer play if they refuse to use feather shuttlecocks. An alternative should be made available for matches. We appeal to all badminton players accross the world, who are against animal cruelty, to take a stand and demand change in the sport of badminton.

Thanks for signing our petition! We were hoping we would have had a whole lot more signatures by now, but unfortunately this seems to be moving very slowly. In the meantime birds continue to suffer. If you are able to help us by sharing this petition we would so appreciate it. We need a whole bunch of signatures for the World Badminton Association to take us seriously. Please share to as many people as you can!
