We Are NOT Guilty Until Proven Innocent: Boycott Springfest 2015 Patdowns & Searches

There is something severely wrong with the mindset that certain Americans have adopted in today's age. People are scared to go to normal events such as Concerts, Sporting Events, or the Airport because something "might" happen. They distrust their fellow American Citizens until they are deemed "innocent" by someone who has been given their authority to search their body and possessions upon consent from the "Suspicious" party.

People accept these searches willingly now in an effort to keep the group safe, but they forfeit their natural born right to Privacy. Even in affairs which do not involve the government, the principles of Privacy and "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" should not be stepped on by commercial enterprises. One should not temporarily revoke these things for the sake of the greater good; We should not be looked at as threats until We are deemed otherwise. It is insulting an outrageous that we let this happen in America today.

The fact that We cannot enter a Concert on our own campus because some idiot might not have the common sense to be respectful and leave their illegal substance or weapon at home is preposterous. A law-abiding citizen should not have to worry about these types of things. The Clarkson Union Board should not punish the consumers for a crime they have not committed. We as a community and a society should work to stamp out criminals and be good, law-abiding citizens. If you are as fed up with this injustice as I am, then I invite you to sign this petition.
