Don't Let Shell Pollute the Science Museum's Climate Change Exhibit

LEGO has finally cut ties with Shell. By doing so, the toymaker signals to the world that they will no longer stand to put the Arctic's vast marine life at risk of a catastrophic oil spill. But the campaign isn't over yet! Shell is still invested in many different areas, ranging from the arts to sports and even museums. One such museum is hosting a climate change exhibition sponsored by Shell.

The energy giant that contributes millions of gallons of dirty oil to our atmosphere is promoting an exhibit all about climate change at London's Science Museum. What's more, the museum is standing by its partnership with Shell.

It's ironic yet frightening — one of the biggest polluters is sponsoring an exhibit dedicated to spreading awareness about the very environmental threat that they help provoke. Not only is this partnership completely contradictory, but it's harmful to the real issue at hand. If we are going to make any significant stride toward tackling climate change, then we need to keep big polluters like Shell out of the equation altogether.

Take a stand against this dirty partnership. Urge London's Science Museum to take LEGO's lead and cut ties with Shell. Get Shell out of the Science Museum's climate change exhibit and tell the real story of climate change!

Dear Director Ian Blatchord,

It is completely contradictory of the Science Museum to partner with Shell to sponsor the museum's climate change exhibition. You can't tell the real story of climate change while accepting sponsorship from a company that makes billions from such environmental destruction. The point of the climate change exhibit is to inform and spread awareness about the threat of climate change — not to provide a platform for the energy giant's own gain.

That is why I'm calling on the Science Museum in London to cut all ties with Shell. Please take swift action to properly represent the dangers of climate change and stop standing by companies like Shell that harm our environment.

Sincerely,
